I began this journey to help busy families get healthy meals on the table. I started to notice that my family, and the families around me, were trying so hard to balance kids, jobs, activities and life that the traditional, family meal was being thrown out the window--with the trash from their fast food containers. As a mom of three, I knew how hard it was to meal plan, grocery shop and cook meals that everyone will eat (or at least try). When you have picky or problem eaters, food allergies, or growing athletes, feeding a family can feel like you are climbing Mt. Everest. I also knew that there had to be an easier way and still keep good nutrition on point.
After many years of practice (and failures too), I want to share my knowledge with other families like yours. I want to show you what I've learned from feeding my own family and empower you to feed your family well too. It's not that hard, my friends, and bringing back the family meal to your table will be a wonderful thing.
I have always loved food. My mom and grandmothers gave me a great foundation for cooking by letting me help in the kitchen from a very young age. I took that love of food into the classroom and became a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist in 2000. I have worked in various fields, including both the clinical and community settings. When my own family came along, I had to step-up my nutrition game. I have three girls, two of whom have had multiple food allergies including one with Eosinophilic Esophagitis and Autism Spectrum Disorder. This gave me a whole new perspective on what feeding a family looks like. When I am not cooking and cleaning up spills in my kitchen, you can find me reading a great book or binge watching Netflix.
